513. 10 Unique LinkedIn Voices to Follow 🥐
For inspiration, for insight, for laughs, for figuring out what and how you want to your voice to be on LinkedIn
Hellooo 👋 So happy to have you here. I’m Kevan. I have spent 15+ years as a head of marketing for some cool tech startups. Now I’ve co-founded a brand storytelling business called Bonfire. We do coaching, advisory, and content. If you identify with creativity and marketing, we’d love for you to join us.
10 Unique LinkedIn Voices to Follow
I have a not-so-secret secret to share: I do not enjoy posting on LinkedIn.
I won’t get too deep into the psychology of why social media pains me — I’ll save that for a future newsletter 😅 — but I will say that despite my anathema to posting on social, I still do it. The business world demands it of me. For now.
So I am often looking for inspiration for how to make social posting more fun and appealing and insightful and helpful. And I have no shortage of great folks in my feeds who are doing cool stuff with their social sharing. I thought I’d reveal a few of my favorites.
Now, as you probably know, there is an invitation-only Top Voices program on LinkedIn. There are lists of the top accounts on LinkedIn (your Bill Gateses and your Satya Nadellas). But I don’t always find out the most from these accounts. I prefer the following “under-the-radar” ones.
(For even more, here’s a cool site that shows some other, non-Bill-Gates folks of interest.)
1. Emily Kramer
Great at: Consistent topic and graphics
Emily is a co-founder of MKT1, which has an awesome
and a ton of great content around early-stage marketing. She covers this topic from head-to-toe and always has helpful graphics that are eye-catching and consistently on-brand.2. Enzo Avigo
Great at: Consistent topic and graphics (same as Emily!)
I know an Enzo post when I see one. Like Emily, Enzo has the market cornered on a particular topic, which is SMB software product analytics. And his graphic game is on point, too!
3. Camille Ricketts
Great at: Asking for advice
Formerly at Notion, Camille now works at Emergence Capital VC firm and uses LinkedIn often to build her rolodex of great connections in tech. Not only does it help her stay connected to good folks in marketing, it’s a very generous way to invite others to participate with you on LinkedIn.
4. Simon Pickerill
Great at: Memes
Simon is the lead product marketer at Avo and one of the best meme curators I know. (High praise!)
5. Meg Moore
Great at: Telling stories, building others up
Meg spent the month of March, Women’s History Month, shouting out a variety of influential women in her life, and she did so with the most amazing long-form tributes that were engrossing, delightful, and inspiring.
Also a great LinkedIn storyteller? My Bonfire co-founder
. Check out this favorite.6. Yen Tan
Great at: CEO’ing
Yen is the co-founder of the Kona app, and they do a fantastic job talking about the product but doing so in an interesting, compelling way — through multimedia, authenticity, and relevant stories.
7. Victoria Sweeney
Great at: Trendspotting and consistent volume
Victoria’s LinkedIn posts are vibrant and active, whether it’s video content or trending social memes or behind-the-scenes details of work or side projects.
8. Kyle Poyar
Great at: vulnerability
Kyle is well-known for his vulnerable posts about pricing and PLG SaaS, but it’s his true vulnerability around topics like confidence and inclusivity that I most appreciate.
9. Jay Acunzo
Great at: Hot takes
Jay does all sorts of great content on LinkedIn and his newsletter, but I particularly enjoy his “hot takes” — not the spiciest thankgoodness, but definitely compelling!
10. Your vote here!
I had a number of other ones that I was considering but couldn’t narrow it down. Let me know any favorite accounts that you follow or feel free to share something cool you’ve been trying on LinkedIn these days. I’d love to check it out!
